This is a mix of tracks, jams, sketches and field recordings that I recorded while making my debut EP «Journey to Arendal» in 2015. Limited edition 50 pieces. xx HOVE

HOVE’s debut EP is full of fuzzy melodies fused with shimmering arpeggios and reduced cosmic beats. Produced at the Light of Other Days headquarters in the heart of Zurich, HOVE developed his sound out of various live-jams, which he recorded onto a Tascam Cassette Recorder. These recordings alongside numerous field recordings build the foundation of the EP «Journey to Arendal».

Influenced by the sound aesthetic of early electronic producers from the 80’s and 90’s, as well as contemporary House, Disco or Techno, HOVE’s music always has a certain kind of warmth to it. Dusty, shuffling grooves meet woozy guitar chords while crystal clear synth melodies are paired with field recordings of rivers, birds or nocturnal city atmospheres. «Journey to Arendal» is out on January 29th, 2016 on «Light of Other Days».

ETHIMM is the project of Elisabeth Thimm and Brian Gimmel. The sound that they call “tension music” oscillates between repetition and improvisation, merging Thimm's dance floor rooted synth and sampler patterns with Gimmel’s piano improv. Be prepared to be confronted with blissed out memories of Berlin’s Dub of the 1990s, ECM style Jazz excursions and the remains of the abyss that is Trip Hop.

Hannes Grassegger is a reporter for swiss media outlets DAS MAGAZIN and REPORTAGEN magazine. This mix is the result of his most recent investigations into the world of finance, technology and war crimes.

The newest LOOD Podcast comes from ETHIMM. Instead of mixing their favourite tunes, they decided to do something really special and recorded an exclusive piece of music for us.
