We are very excited to announce our next release! It’s gonna be a remix EP featuring tracks by: Unknown Mobile, Phantom Island, Michal Turtle and Jack Pattern.

Right in time for his new release «Drive Down», Miajica (Fleeting Wax / Alma Negra) drops a killer mix for our Podcast series.

Inspired by his recent trip to Japan, label-head Le Frère delivers a podcast between ambient, weird drum-patterns, spaced-out synth-lines and some bits from the upcoming EP «Drive Down» by Miajica. Enjoy!

When it comes to the music of Miajica, there is always a variety of influences, shameless sampling and melodic patterns involved that touches our hearts. His love for records is a never ending story and this makes him a fantastic DJ and selector. Miajica’s passion for the extraordinary is what made us at Light of Other Days fall in love with his music when we first met him several years ago.

Miajica might mostly be know for his work with Alma Negra but he is a prolific producer of his own and had some amazing releases in recent months. He also just launched the label Fleeting Wax with Mehmet Aslan - which is already getting some great attention in the balearic scene all over the world.

Miajica’s first EP on Light of Other Days «Drive Down» was created from some of his recent and most striking influences: «Breathing Again» indicates the feeling after he stopped smoking and discovered this whole new world of intense emotions and sensual experiences. «L’Aéroport» was created in one of those lost moments when you’re overtired at the airport and have to wait to board another delayed flight to your next destination while the third track «Mediterraneo» is an uplifting hommage to his heritage and roots in Spain.

Last year Andrew from Portland contacted me to ask if i wanted to contribute a track to his newly founded label «New Information». His plan was to do a dual cassette compilation that goes by the name of «Styles for Relaxation» (after a new age store specializing in cassettes and the usual paraphernalia, based here in Portland but long out-of-business). I really liked the concept and wrote the track «Silver Circles» which is now featured on the beautiful curated and designed two cassette compilation alongside tracks by other greats like: Ruf Dug, Body-San, Cherushii, Moon B and many more.

Now im really happy to share this amazing mix that Andrew did for us which consists of mostly unreleased and exciting music.

Krossfingers is one of our favourite sites to discover music on the internet. They built an amazing archive of mixes, tunes and interviews and they where very early supporters when we started out with Light of Other Days.

We are more than happy that they submitted Podcast Nr. 17 for our ongoing series!
